This OcTrolleyFest will be somewhat different because of ongoing renovations to Darby Library and we will also commemorate our oldest form of transportation heritage which is walking.

The Great Minquas Path crossed over Land that belonged to the Bartram family (now Eden Cemetery and the Woodburne Plateau) 80 miles, connecting the Susquehannock to the Dutch, Swedish, and later English fur trading posts. (see picture above)

We will also celebrate the Washington Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (W3R) which passed through Darby on the way from Newport Rhode Island 800 miles to the final victory at Yorktown and American Independence.

We also celebrate the freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad and the people,

black and white who risked everything to be free.

Area treasurers include Eden Cemetery on Springfield Road with a guided walking tours of Eden focusing on the struggle for fairness and human dignity on streetcars called Riding the Rails; Taking it to the Courts and to the People featuring people involved in the struggle for human dignity and fairness on streetcars including Caroline LeCount and William Stilll as well as other heroes of including William Still, Octavius Catto, John Mott Drew, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, and many other Citizens of Eden.
