Art Contest and Area Historic Treasures

For the past few years sharon bank has sponsored a contest in which students in local fifth grade classes draw their best picture of a trolley. It has been a joy to see the different ways they see their world. Because of the necessary renovations to the Darby Library, we do not have space to display the pictures, so the art contest will not be held this year . These are the winners from past years.

Every year for the past few years, students in the 5th Grade, (when they learn PA History), produce their best trolley picture and it has fascinating to see the different ways our young people see their world. 


Because of necessary renovations to the Darby Libary, we do not have space to display the pictres this year.

Eden Cemetery on Springfield Road in Collingdale is one of the area treasures.  Established in 1902 on land that was the birthplace of famed botanist John Bartram   www.darbyhistory.com/Bartram.html 
Eden is the resting place for about 80,000 "Citizens of Eden"  including Marion Anderson, William StillJohn Drew,
 
Octavius Catto, Carolyn LeCount, Ellen Frances Watkins Harper, Julian Abele and many others.

Because of necessary renovations to the Darby Libary, we do not have space to display the pictres this year so the Art Contest for 5th gradse students will not be held this year.
